On our Street
2018 / Heritage Lottery Fund ProjectHeritage Lottery funded reminiscence project.Working with 4 groups we will create small memory boxes and a fabric map of the local area specific to the group we are working with. Fantastic project so far, just finished the workshops at Immingham and that has led to a  local history group being formed.

Louise Bourgeois and Collected Women
2017 / Arts CouncilArts Council funded project , commissioned by Arts Meridian to create two community quilt/hangings. The first in North East Lincs working with over 80 children and adults in several venues,  using monoprint and digital printing to represent strange insects or focussing on family life, the top two images in this section show details from the quilt and the finished quilt is on the left of the two lower images. The second quilt was produced in North Lincs working at 20-21 Arts Centre in Scunthorpe and focussed on digital printing using family photos for inspiration. The finished quilt is shown in the image on the right when it was displayed in the final ‘Louise Bourgeois and Collected Women’ at 20-21 Arts Centre.

Far and Near
2017 / Arts Meridian

This exhibition focussed on peoples feelings of family loss and celebrating special people in their lives. I was commissioned by Arts Meridian to create a highly tactile quilt/wrap as part of an installation where visitors could sit on a commemorative bench, wrap themselves in the quilt and read personal messages stitched onto the wrap. The finished piece was approx. 1.5m wide by 1m high. It was displayed at the Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby in 2017, went on to a Leeds venue in the autumn with further venues planned.

Threads of the Past
2016 / Heritage Lottery FundHeritage Lottery funded project focussing on the use of local history maps, records, artefacts and personal memories I worked alongside Jennie Cartwright from Lincs Inspire Libraries and local people to create personal memory boxes. The images above show one of the participants reading an article about when her father was lost at sea, alongside us making decisions on how the finished boxes would be displayed.

The Den
2016 / North Lincs MuseumI was commissioned to create a cover for the ‘den’ in the new family room at the North Linconshire Museum in Scunthorpe.  The remit was that it had to relate to artefacts in the museum and be tactile and interesting for young children. I used digital printing onto fabric, hand and machine stitching, felted wool and drawn images to create a rich surface inside and out.
